Really? He's not a familiar? Or some sort of construct?

... You know, I don't really know. He's definitely not a familiar, but I've never stopped to think if he might be some kind of construct... At the very least he's some kind of awakened creature. Or rudely awakened, more like. He's very grumpy all the time.

Rudely awakened. [ That gets a laugh out of him. ] And what of the rest of your companions? What are they like?

Hah, well, they're a lively bunch! It would take me hours to talk about them, though.

What about you, Arthur? You must be an active adventurer, hm?

That's right. I typically travel around, taking odd jobs as they come my way. And some of them are quite odd indeed.

Oh, gods. Too many to count, potentially. I've done everything from delivering letters to finding lost pets to battling bandits and beasts alike.

Ahh... [ She chuckles, the sound of it tinged with warmth and nostalgia. ] That really brings me back. But how about your odd odd jobs?

I suppose I could tell you about the time I ran afoul of a mage in the midst of a summoning ritual, only it really rather didn't go how he planned.

[ honestly, forget Monopoly, this is way more interesting and way less likely to cause irreparable damage to a growing friendship. ]

You could tell me, actually! I'd love to hear about it. What was he trying to summon? Did you storm in and say something really cheeky and then drop a big old Fireball when you interrupted him?

First of all, I'm a healer, primarily. Fireballs are far beyond my purview.

Second of all, I've no idea what he was trying to summon, but what he ended up summoning was slime. So much slime.

Oh. Yuck...

Hm, but wouldn't it be so neat if Miss Clover could bring a huge ball of arcane fire down upon your enemies? The slimes would be no match for her.

Well, when I say "so much slime" I do mean that. I was literally swimming in it. Even a fireball might not have helped me.

So, how did you manage to get out and get rid of the slimes...?

I had to swim. It was as godsawful as it sounds. Never mind trying to wrench open a door in a room full of slime.

Spirits, I'm so sorry, Arthur. That sounds awful. I'm not a strong swimmer by any means, but swimming through slime? I would probably drown.

'Twas a bit of a mixed bag of a day. I was able to apprehend the mage in question, at least, but I was cleaning slime out of my hair for ages.

Aww... I don't suppose you have something like a Prestidigitation spell, then. That would have taken all the slime out with a snap of your fingers!

Ah, no. Prestidigitation isn't a spell that exists in my world, or if it does, it goes by a much different name and I do not know it. Though, I know someone here who does know that sort of magic.
