[ He lifts his hand to point to his own head, indicating the flowers in her hair. ]
You have a built-in mood detector with those. They bloomed right away when you started eating. Iβm really flattered, actually.
[ Heβs always been told that his cooking is good. The Kamisato siblings in particular have no end of good things to say about it, but this is the first time he can see just how it makes someone feel. It feels like heβs just been given a priceless gift, and he has Ori to thank for it. ]
[ With a quizzical look on her face, she mirrors the movement of his hand and, sure enough, she feels delicate petals at her fingertips. With a soft gasp, her cheeks redden. Ori has always been an open book when it comes to her emotions— but to have her dreamotion energy respond so readily to what she feels and then to have it be on display in this way makes her feel self-conscious. She has to spare a thought to wonder if she should stop wearing flowers in her hair, but when she looks at Thoma and sees the smile it's brought to his face, feeling the warmth that envelops them in his home... it somehow doesn't seem scary, to have her emotions on display. At least not with him around.
At length, she finds herself chuckling with him, albeit a little bashfully, still. ]
Oh, gosh... The flowers really just give me away, don't they? I-I'm glad if it makes you feel flattered. I really haven't had anything like this soup before!
They do, but if I had to guess, Iβd say youβre not really one for hiding your feelings, are you?
[ She might downplay them sometimes - something he is exceedingly familiar with since Ayaka is much the same in a lot of ways - but her emotions have ever been worn on her sleeve. In a place like this, it might work against her sometimes, but Thoma finds it endearing. ]
Miso is pretty common in Inazuma. This is just my personal spin on it. So, thank you for the honest review.
[ And on her end, Ori has always felt as though her inaptitude at concealing her emotions continuously works against her and made for some rather poor performances as a mercenary in the past... but what she doesn't realize is that her very nature makes people want to trust and rely on her, and that in itself is a strength. She would never think of herself that way, though.
She nods at Thoma before she looks back down at her soup. She's going to lean in and continue with the meal in earnest, but before she does— she realizes her hair might get in the way as long as it is, so she reaches over and tries to brush her hair to pull it behind her shoulders as best as she can. Before she has more of the soup, she quickly adds, ]
I would love to learn how to make this sometime. Oh— but only if that's alright with you.
[ Thoma does find her openness refreshing and even inviting. If he were asked, he would certainly count it as a strength, even if Ori herself doesn't see it that way.
He watches her fuss with her hair a moment, a fond smile that he doesn't even seem to realize is there curving his lips. ]
Oh, it's not a secret or anything. I'd be happy to teach you.
[ But they should both dig in before it gets too cold. He takes up his spoon to start in on the meal in earnest - they have delicious dessert waiting for them, after all. ]
