[ That earnest smile does a lot to ease Ori's nerves, especially so when she notices how the Flower Princess's crown brightens. She wonders if this is what it's like for other people when they interact with her, being able to so easily see and read her emotions when the flowers she regularly wears in her hair respond to her so sensitively.

At what Susato says, though, Ori's smile broadens. ]

Fire! That's wonderful.

[ It may stand opposite to flower powers, true, but to someone like Ori, who's in tune with the primal elements of nature, fire is just as important and as beautiful of a force of nature as plant life. She might also be biased given that she is in a throuple with two men who innately wield the power of fire. But who knows. ]

Fire gives warmth and light, and it burns bright with passion!

[ Gee, Ori, how come you get TWO fire boyfriends?

Curse their teenage girl feelings. Susato also is enamored with a man with a fiery temper that often manifests in actual fire, though he may or may not be as skilled as Diluc or Thoma. Since Ori seems to be happy for her though, Susato will give her a nod. What she describes seems very in line with her image of fire that she's come to understand. ]

Yes! Th, the fire of life, I suppose. Determination... That is what I strive for now, as opposed to anger, which is how I started... [ We all start somewhere??? ]

[ It just happened that way!

Do not be deceived by her lack of confidence and youthful aura, Susato! It's just that she's twenty-three and doesn't have her shit together! ]

I see... I guess when magic is new to you, especially with something like dreamotion, it's easy to manifest things like fire. But you know... It's remarkable that you can change how you view it so easily, because you're right! Fire can be destructive or feel like something that comes out of anger, but... it's also comforting and guiding!

[ She's thinking about cold nights spent outside with nothing but a bonfire to keep light and keep warm. That very specific kind of feeling. ]

I think it's a fine element to wield.

[ At twenty-three with the power of magical plants and two boyfriends, Susato might beg to differ, but she's only seventeen, so she still has a few years to catch up. She only needs (1) boyfriend, anyway, and even then..........

...This weekend sure has been a lot. ]

Does it feel different? When you wield dreamotion, as opposed to wielding the magic of a druid... [ She has to wonder whether the Queen as any insight on making the whole process easier. ]

[ This weekend truly has been a lot.

Oriphi offers a few slow blinks at Susato's prompting, a quizzical expression that gives way to a contemplative one as she hums. ]

It does. My druid magic draws on my connection with nature... There are certain gestures and incantations involved... But I can cast them whenever I can, however I'm feeling, given that I have the energy and can do those gestures and incantations. But with dreamotion... if I'm not feeling it, then things can go wrong.

[ She laughs sheepishly. ] I'm sure you've run into problems like that, too. But it feels more... Hmm. As if, my druid magic comes from the elements, from outside of myself and from my surroundings, but dreamotion is the opposite.

[ From her reaction, she knows all too well what Ori means. At the very least though, any accidents from practicing in the kitchen have been minor or negligable. ]

It might be easier for me if it was simply a matter of incantations and gestures. As it is, I feel like you're right. Dreamotion comes from within.

At the very least, I always imagine a fire burning inside of me. Then I just... borrow from it.

[ Ori finds herself smiling reassuringly at Susato; truly, the tiefling has been rather glad that dreamotion was an easy thing for her to grasp given her prior experience with magic. If she can help someone like Susato improve on hers, then she would be even happier. ]

I think you’re on the right track, thinking of it that way! While we’re in this realm of dreams… dreamotion is always inside of us and around us, just waiting for us to tap into it.

[ There’s a beat in which she hums thoughtfully yet again before she adds, ]

Though… There’s nothing stopping you from using incantations and gestures, is there? I wonder if it would help you become more consistent with your dreamotion if you, um… assigned those kinds of things to different things you were trying to do?

[ . . . Susato opens her mouth, as if to say something, but then she'll close it again, momentarily dumbfounded. Just... assign incantations and gestures? Magic really just works like that?

Well, dream magic does, anyway. ]

I... I don't know? Do you know any incantations for fire?

[ ...Or other elements? She'll try anything once. The worst that's happened so far (other than nothing) was that she fainted for a good few seconds when she managed to heal Kazuma, and gave her dad a scare. It's fine. ]

[ Ori's own magic doesn't, because some ancient druid or wizard or god or something probably made up the incantations and gestures that now make up the spells she knows, but dream magic could totally work that way! Maybe. Only one way to find out! ]

Mmm, I do know some fire spells, but the incantations are in another language so it might be hard to teach... but not to worry! We can come up with some together, sometime! Maybe over tea...?

[ Of course they're in another language. Why not? She's already learned English, and now, somehow she's able to understand snakes. She has no idea what language Ori's ancient wizard or god used, but she's probably hit capacity when it comes to language either way. If Ori says it's difficult, she'll believe her.

Coming up with their own sounds like way more fun. ]

That sounds wonderful! You are always welcome at the Wild Harvest, and of course, I will continue to support Mr Diluc and Lord van Zieks.
