💛 RELATIONSHIPS 💛
VALPHI
Tiefling / Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer.
Oriphi's younger sister, who found herself on opposing sides with Ori after a fellow mercenary betrayed and sold her and other members of the Fangs of the Fox out to Gran Karrefour's cultists. Since being released from enthrallment and leading the surviving Fangs against Mephistopheles' forces, she has struck out on her own and formed her own adventuring group. Dae considers them rivals and competitors in the 'adventuring group industry,' although it's mostly one-sided, especially as the true subject of Valphi's ire is Colin.
Seeking to repair their relationship after being estranged for a few years following Ori's departure from the Fangs, the sisters have spent a lot of time with each other, even occasionally traveling and questing together, which Dae totally doesn't consider a conflict of interests. But it's fine. Valphi is a frequent visitor to the Hollow Wilds, both to see her sister and to hand off quests that she deems outside her group's scope.
THE ALCHEMIGHTY
KAULINOR 'COLIN' SUONA
Half-Elf / College of Lore Bard.
An old acquaintance from Ori's days in the Fangs of the Fox, the druid and bard grow closer after crossing paths once more and finding themselves on a seemingly important quest together. After "saving the world," he and Oriphi help rebuild the Kingdom of Duskvale, his home, before they travel the world together as a pair for some number of years. He currently serves as the Spymaster for the Kingdom of Duskvale under his sister Alyria, the Queen.
He is Oriphi's closest confidant, and their together-but-not (?) romantic relationship remains a poorly-kept secret. Valphi still hates his guts.
DAELARETH 'DAE' VELTRIS
Elf / Bladesong Wizard.
The
Alchemighty
is his inheritance, as it once was the adventuring group that his parents and extended family founded. As such, he is its leader, and has established a flourishing network of adventurers since the days when it was comprised only of his friends. He's technically the "boss," but he, Ori, and Mellon share a close bond and often have equal say in the affairs of the Alchemighty. And though a fantastic leader and mentor, he does prefer to participate in the Alchemighty's given quests firsthand, leaving Ori to do much of the "administrative" work. How the group has stayed afloat is a mystery in its own right.
MELLON MELIAMNE
Elf / Way of the Drunken Master Monk.
The first inducted member of this incarnation of the Alchemighty, he now serves as a mentor to the newer recruits, and is usually away taking them on lower-level quests. Although he never truly gave up his tendency to act like a drunken fool, at least he's actually sober these days. Ori is always sure to send he and his teams away with several healing potions and frequently uses her scrying mirror to check on them out of a longstanding concern for his wellbeing.
SIAN
Changeling / Pact of the Fiend Warlock.
The second inducted member of the Alchmighty. Unlike Mellon, Sian prefers not to take part in the training of new recruits, instead preferring to take on higher-level quests. They are also often away pursuing leads while deep undercover thanks to their changeling abilities. When they
are
at the Hollow Wilds, however, Ori spends a lot of time with them and often ropes them in to help with administrative tasks... Sian also has a large role in... procuring... magical items and weapons for the guild.
ARALYTH 'AERIE' ELIDRYANKIIR
Elf / Hunter Ranger.
Aerie occasionally works with the Alchemighty as a consultant or by providing quests to retrieve various items of scholarly importance, but for the most part has devoted her life to rebuilding the archives that her family had established long ago with the help of Aeryn. She and Ori have become close friends over the years, and Ori often writes to Aerie about the "eligible folks" she meets from time to time.
CIBARK
Half-orc / Oath of the Ancients Paladin.
Though very much still a close friend of the group's, he has since left the life of adventuring in order to rebuild and lead his home village. He and his husband Aeryn (Aerie's twin brother) have also adopted many children over the years, all of whom call the members of the Alchemighty their godparents. Ori considers him a brotherly figure and often makes time to visit him and her godchildren when things aren't too busy at the Hollow Wilds.
PHILOSTENES
Some kind of ancient cat wizard.
As the one who originally sent the group on their quest, he feels somewhat responsible for its members, even if he wants to be left alone in his treehouse. Too bad said treehouse is now the headquarters of the Alchemighty. It was Ori's magic restoration of the forest that saved the treehouse from being destroyed, though, so who's really the landlord?
JUNIPER 'JUNI' VELTRIS
Feylost Elf / Wild Magic Barbarian
The adopted "darling daughter" of the Alchemighty. The adventurers took the young elven girl in after she lost her parents to the selfsame hags that took Ori and Val's parents, and have been raising her as a junior adventurer, even taking her along to myriad quests (at times to Ori's chagrin).

ABOUT
She may be small in stature, but she is big in heart. A former teen mercenary-turned-wanderer-turned-adventurer-turned-hero, Oriphi now spends her days acting as a would-be guardian for the Hollow Wilds. An all-but-hollow mystical forest, these woods house the headquarters of the Alchemighty, a renowned adventuring group in the world of Paplan. She also acts as the Alchemighty's resident Healer (and cook) (and herbalist), always ensuring that adventurers receive healing upon arrival and sending them off with an ample supply of potions... and snacks!
PERSONALITY
Oriphi has come along way since her worrying, insecure days as ayoung adventurer, although some things have surely stayed the same. Helping and taking care of others remains her calling in life, though now she does this by taking care of the members of the Alchemighty, rather than by questing. And she remains kind and gentle and caring, though many many decades of experience and wisdom have her feeling more confident in speaking her mind and occasionally even sassing people, especially if they get themselves hurt doing something reckless.
BACKSTORY
Oriphi and her younger sister Valphi were seemingly abandoned by their parents at a young age, left in a small village that had little room in it for two orphans. They were taken in by an elderly man named Gerrell Caskridge, life in the village became difficult when magic began to manifest in the girls from a young age, with Val discovering her sorcery and Ori experiencing visions and dreams of what she would later come to know as the Feywild. Without proper knowledge and training, Val's magic was increasingly dangerous and Ori's increasingly mysterious as it drew her to the woods time and time again, often returning with little to no memory of what she had been doing or where she had gone. Eventually, the two sisters left the village, eventually finding their way into a mercenary group called the Fangs of the Fox.
Valphi excelled as a mercenary - Oriphi, on the other hand, did not, and the longer she was in the Fangs the stronger her desire grew to escape into the woods as she used to as a child and feel closer to the realm in her dreams. Eventually, the sisters parted ways to pursue different paths, with Val quickly rising through the ranks with the Fangs and Ori wandering and searching for Fey Crossings. There, she met a druid who taught her to focus her magic to draw from and strengthen her bond with the Feywild. Oriphi eventually began to travel to different towns in a humble life of healing and using her magic to bring wonder and joy into their lives - at least until a greater adventure would find her and put her on a path to reunite with her sister.
TIME WITH THE ALCHEMIGHTY
Together with an old friend, Colin, as well as new friends like Aerie, Sian, Mellon, Cibark, and Dae (who would later dub the group "The Alchemighty," after his parents' own adventuring group), Ori would travel across the continent at the behest of the wizard Philostenes in search of the Stones of Gran Karrefour. In finding said stones, they would be preventing various enthralled or otherwise compromised forces from gathering and resurrecting the ancient, powerful but tyrannical wizard from walking the world once more as a lich. Over the course of this adventure, they uncover various political machinations at play and find themselves further embroiled in plans involving demon lords... All of which they haphazardly handle (usually through violence), but at least they gathered the Stones in the end.
Although they aren't able to find a way to destroy the stones without unwittingly unleashing the vestiged powers of various demon lords in the process, they are ultimately able to cast out Gran Karrefour's soul and reform the stones anew with the help of Sian's patron, who is revealed to be a minor deity who had been cursed into the form of a fiend. The newly-reformed Alchemighty then sets out to return each of the new stones to their former keepers, or otherwise find new ways to keep them safe - including keeping one in their own headquarters, to eventually be watched over by Philostenes (and eventually Ori).
THE AFTERMATH
Ori spends years in the aftermath of this adventure traveling with Colin and rebuilding her relationship with her sister. During this time, she, Colin, and Valphi return to their "hometown" when they hear of children repeatedly disappearing into the nearby woods - in the same way Oriphi would when she was a child. There, they find an unusually active and turbulent Fey Crossing and enlist the help of the Alchemighty to investigate. Together, the team learns that a coven of hags are behind the disappearances and further uncover a bitter truth: this is the very same coven that had taken Ori and Val's parents when the two were too young to even remember. Their tiefling father and elven mother had given up their own freedom to prevent the hags from taking their daughters, and they were spirited away into captivity in the Feywild where they would spend their lives forever sundered from their precious girls. One of these hags later found Oriphi to sow the seeds of a forsaken family reunion, teaching her how to draw druidic magic from the Feywild, hoping that one day the young woman would discern the truth and give them a tragedy to revel in. It works.
Together with her friends and her sister, Ori defeats the coven. However, they are far too late to save their parents.
Crushed by the truth, Ori considers abandoning her druidic magic altogether, but her loved ones convince her to forge on, to use her powers for good and to heal the lives of others even despite the bitterness and anguish surrounding its source. It's then that Ori decides to join the Alchemighty once more, to serve as the group's healer again and to help those in need. Together, they also take in a
young elven girl
who lost her own parents to the coven, and whose affinity for wild magic requires careful guidance.
Before long, Colin returns to Duskvale to take up the role of an "ambassador" (read: spy) for his sister, Queen Alyria, too, thus ending their adventuring life as a pair together.
Over the years, Ori begins to settle into a more supportive role in the quickly expanding free company. Eventually, she takes up a more permanent residence in the Hollow Wilds to keep watch over the woods that house the group's headquarters and to keep watch over her old adventuring friends and their new recruits alike.
