He knows he doesn't need to stay like this--he's not entirely sure how to reverse the process, but there's nothing stopping him from making the attempt. But it makes Ori happier, and if he has to be honest it's made him happier as well. Purring, he realizes, soothes himself just as much as it soothes her. While he wishes he could speak like he could with the magical wolf transformations of the moon dreamscape, he can't deny that there's an appeal to exploring the world--and Ori's affections--in another form like this.
